The Japan Securities Clearing Corporation (JSCC) first introduced Hyperledger Besu blockchain technology into production in January 2023 (*1) and then officially joined the Hyperledger Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that globally promotes standardization of blockchain/distributed ledger technology (DLT), and its founding organization The Linux Foundation (*2), in October 2023.

In March 2024, the Hyperledger Foundation launched the Hyperledger Besu Financial Services Working Group, chaired by the US DTCC, and the JSCC is participating as one of its founding members. The Hyperledger Besu Financial Services Working Group is an industry-wide collaboration focused on financial solutions against the backdrop of the rapid expansion of blockchain technology and will support the development of the open source Hyperledger Besu (*3).
