As the first activity based on the MOU between Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (JPX) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) signed on November 7, 2022, an international economic forum titled the “Japan-Southeast Asia Market Forum” was held in Singapore on November 15, 2022, jointly hosted by the two parties.
The Forum featured prominent speakers from Japan, including Yasutoshi Nishimura, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry; Tomoko Amaya, Vice Minister for International Affairs, Financial Services Agency; President and CEO of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and others from government agencies, financial institutions and start-ups in the region to provide overseas investors, entrepreneurs and others with an overview of the “now” in Japan.
The 250 attendees at the forum expressed their expectations for more excitement about the innovation sector in Southeast Asia, its mid/long-term market trends, and the potential for further cooperation between Japan and Southeast Asia.
