In April 2021, JPX Market Innovation and Research, Inc. (JPXI) decided through Index Consultation that TOPIX and the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers Index would continue to be calculated after reviewing the calculation guidelines in response to the market restructuring on April 4, 2022. In addition, JPXI had decided to implement the revisions in stages, having fully considered the issue of continuity as well as the impact on the market. JPXI has published the list of “phased weighting reduction constituents” in TOPIX and Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers Index as follows.

As TOPIX is scheduled to be re-evaluated in October 2023, depending on the results, said constituents’ transition factor may no longer decrease or said constituents may be removed from the list of phased weighting reduction constituents.
